More dim sum

Sticky rice - only one thing in this freaked me out. I bit into something (My friend said it was probably a chestnut) but it had the shape and consistency that made me think I had just bitten into a cooked eyeball. I spit it out into my napkin and didn't even look at it. UGH

Spare ribs... very tender!

Dim sum at boolong

My friend from work took me for my first Dim Sum ever. I'm a Chinese food addict, so it's shocking it took me this long to go. The only thing I regret is that I didn't try it sooner - it's delicious! My favorites were the clear rice dumplings with shrimp, the sticky rice and the sesame balls.

Tripe... it's creepy to think about, kinda chewy, but ok tasting.

Christmas Dinner

Christmas dinner with the family.

My cousin "tater tot" with her fork at the ready.... be impressed she stopped eating this yummy food long enough to pose. Mmmmm grandma cooking. Best ever!

Proof of the delishiousness on our "fine china" for the holidays.

I made my own wontons!

This was my first attempt at making my own wontons. Filled with grilled chicken, spicy mango salsa and mexican cheese. (I only burnt two of them before I figured out the right oil temperature. Go me!)

Illustration Friday - "Backwards"

This is a crappy illustration, but it is what it is. I choose to write the words "My Life" and mirror them backwards, because right now that's how I feel I'm going. Backwards. This post is a part of Illustration Friday.

Tater Tot at Thanksgiving.

I caught her digging into the food a bit early so I had to take her pic. She looks so cute with her hair like this!

sometimes you just need something you can't have...

Life is significantly harder when you don't feel at home anywhere and everywhere you look just brings up memories you don't want to think about.

One day is good, the next is not so good. It's not even like a rollercoaster, it's more like slamming yourself into a brick wall, dusting yourself off and picking yourself up and a few days later doing the same damn thing, like you didn't learn anything the first time.

It would be so much easier to just forget, but I can't.

Trust me, I've tried.
